Arrow tuning question?
« on: September 04, 2012, 12:33:00 AM »
Think my arrows are a little underspined from tuning (10yds)

If looking at the target straight on; the unfletched arrows hit 2 inches right of the fletched...and when they hit it looks like they were shot  from my right side at a 45 degree angle.

Fletched arrows are dead on at 15 yds. But when shooting at 30 yds Im consistently 1 foot right.

I would agree.  Bare shafts would be to the right of fletched arrows for a RH shooter. Check this out. You might try raising your brace height, by adding 5 twists then shooting some, or reduce the point weight, shorten arrows if possible, or move the arrow rest in (RH).

You might want to try bare-shaft tuning before fletching. Sites such as A.C.S. and Bearpaw Custom Bows offer instructions with pictures.

I would try backing out to 15 or 20 yards and shooting a group of fletched arrows and bare shafts and tune according to how they group together. From what you have said though it does sound like you are underspined.

Yep, underspined. Got to get that bareshaft flying great. Well, you don't have to. But, if you don't you may always wonder if you missed the mark because you were a little out of tune.

Just saying
