Bow found in the road in Kansas

Hey guys... put the word out that a lady found a Black Widow (I assume) bow in the road in Kansas and called Roger at Black Widow to report it. He posted it on the Widow Wall and it has been posted there a few days with no response... so the owner may not be a regular internet surfer. They can contact Roger at B.W. if the owner is located.

Thanks Richard for looking out for some poor soul.
It's character like yours that helps make this such and awesome place.
I personally want to make sure that the positive gets acknowledged.

I did the exact same thing about 12-15 years ago. I was hunting public ground in IL. and put my BW on top of my truck and was setting on the tailgate changing clothes. Got done and hopped in truck and drove home. The next day I went to get something out of the back end, and realized what I had done. I drove back out there and the bow was laying in the ditch across from the parking lot. It had slid off the cap when I turned left.
Hope they find the owner.

I lost my cane this past weekend. I thought about how often my longbow sat there.
Can we put a sticky on our dash that just says, "where is my bow?"
If it saves one broken heart, it will be worth it

When I set my bow down as I get ready to go home, I have a couple of standard rules.
1. Never put my bow in a place where it could get run over if I forget it's there.
2. Put bow, pack, etc., in front of a door that has to open before I can drive away. Alternatively, I take my car keys and hook the caribiner on my key ring around my bow string or an arrow in my bow quiver.
Sometimes I pile up my stuff (including my bow) on the ground on top of my keys, if the terrain permits.

Like Archie, I put my keys in a place where I can't get to them without getting my camera, bow, or whatever it is that I have that I dont want to leave lying on the road...Keeps me from locking my keys in the truck too!

yeah, they tracked it thru the original owner and it was sold thru the "Footed Shaft" second hand, if my memory serves me correctly.
The owner is now aware of the find and the poor guy has to wait until Monday to call Roger at Black Widow to get that honest lady's contact information.
great end to a story.

A buddy of mine did the same thing--left his longbow on top of his car and drove off. Didn't hear it slide off. Later that evening a lady called him and reported that her husband had found it. Because his name was on the bow they looked him up in the phone book and it was returned happily home! Maybe a good reason to have our names on our bows, huh? I'm sure if his name had been on the bow Black Widow could help find it's way home.

Yeah, the owner placed it on top of the cab of his truck while vacuuming at the carwash. When finished vacuuming, he just got in a drove away. I think he was just trying to make me feel better about myself!!! Heh. Regardless, he has a long two days before B.W. opens Monday and he can get the lady's info from Roger.

I heard about a guy running over his bow with his truck. That's how the flatbow got its name.
