My Hunting Set up for the year(deer)
« on: September 09, 2012, 05:18:00 PM »
Well y'all here is my set up for the year.
66" 56lb@28 Northern Mist Superior.  Hunting with 60-65 Western Larch shafts from Kootenai river Archery. Tipped with 125 4 blade zwickey No Mercy.  Cheap Allen Glove, (it works for me), Homemade GFA style side quiver, and as always and just like the last 19 or so years, my trusty Buck 110. That 110 will gut, breakdown, debone, and finish all my kills from start to finish. It has even been know to cut my steaks for me.

Update, cause i know someone will notice.  The two arrows on the right are breakoffs, that are now tipped with ACE Hex heads for the just in case opportunity of some small game.

Good choice, Brianlocal3, the Superior is one great shooting bow and with the other gear you have chosen, the only thing missing is a little Red.
Good luck!

October 1st is not far away.  I hope to be able to get out a couple times this year. Last year not once did I get out, the wife works weekends only so weekends are out of the question , but untill daylight savings comes around I'm going to try some after work and some sick day hunts

Great set up!  It'll be $$ for sure this season.  I, too, love my Buck 110 folder knife.  I've had this one for 10 years (after somehow misplacing my original I had for 15 years). It sharpens razor sharp and has been through alot of game meat..  Good luck his season.  ~Steve

Great set-up Brian,
Simple - fool proof - basics.
I assume you have a spare bow string in your pack ?
I have never hunted without a spare bow string - in 40 years of bowhunting, I have NEVER needed one - but never hunted without a spare in my day pack.
Buck #110 - must be the perfect knife.
I clean game, some fish, and do kitchen chores with mine.
Great set-up.  The best of luck to you this season.

What are ACE Hex heads? How about a picture of them on the shaft?

Nice setup. I love those D shaped Longbows. I carry the Buck 112 daily. It;s the same as the 110 just a little shorter blade. Love the green glass.
