Hey everyone just wanted to say hey. Im new to archery and trad gang, but so far im really enjoying it. Im shooting a samick sage 45 @ 28. My question is how long do guys normally practice for on a daily basis. It seems like after 3 or 4 rounds of 6 arrows, my form really starts to decline.

if ya can shoot 10 arrows a day and good ones then that will be ok oh and welcome to the gang

That's right. You don't need that much daily practice as long as your shots are good. It don't take much. But I like to shoot more sometimes. I just like to watch them fly. Welcome. Gary

Welcome and as many as you have time for/ can comfortably shoot.  Like sage says above, it's better to have 10-15 good ones than a bunch of marginal ones. You might be surprised at how quick those muscles will develop. A thought... since you've got the 3 piece bow, if you've got the funds, pick up a lighter set of limbs. You might be surprised how much difference even 5 lbs can make. Use the lighter limbs for form work, you can always go back to the heavier limbs later.

Welcome to traditional archery, and tradgang!  This is a great place to ask questions and learn.

Shooting every day, along with drawing your bow every day will quickly increase your strength.  But be careful that you do not shoot when you're tired and losing form.  You will build bad habits that way -- such as dropping your bow arm and developing a sloppy release.

If you are right handed, draw your bow 10 times each day left handed to keep your muscles properly balanced.

If I could shoot 15-20 good arrows a day I'd be happy.

Have fun!

Welcome and enjoy.   Shoot what's comfortable and not one arrow more. Its hard to set a bow down when tired but really is the best thing.

Welcome aboard.

Shoot for as long as you feel comfortable. Then call it a day.

Welcome! May seem odd, but I shoot better when I don't shoot everyday. If I shoot great one day, then go back out the next day, I often don't do as well. But put a couple days between, and I am productive again.    :dunno:

Stop shooting BEFORE your form declines.  Rest in between rounds.

Welcome and as the rest have stated. Shoot until you feel tired, or your shooting declines.

Welcome to the trad way. For me I like to shoot one arrow at a time, concentrating on the exact spot I want to hit. Like everyone is saying quit before your tired. Bad form is easy to repeat when your tired.    :archer2:

Welcome to the trad life. Shoot as much as is fun, but don't keep going if you are frustrated, tired, or injured. There will be times you will shoot many arrows and times when you only really feel up to shooting a few. Just concentrate on fun and form. And here is a piece of advice where it is do as I say, not always necessarily as I do. Take the time really fine tune your equipment. It takes a while to get good at it, but it will come over time. Tuning will really add to your pleasure as it is the only way to get all the potential out of your equipment and yourself. This trad thing is a long and happy journey.
