Earlier this year I ordered a Kanati from Jason, I got lucky and was the last order he took for 2012, it should be getting here towards the end of October or so. While waiting for it, I figured the best thing I could do was find one to shoot in the meantime, and was fortunate to get one about two weeks ago from Pops. I have been shooting her often, and shooting pretty well, the grip just fits me. I took her deer hunting for the first time this morning but saw nothing.  This afternoon I went to a different spot that I have been waiting to hunt but couldn't because of wind direction. Well, it changed midday today and was perfect.  This spot is good for me as it is literally a quarter mile from my house, and I park in a friends yard where no one can see my truck.  Here is the Kanati before going to work......

At 6:09 pm this happened......

I had been sitting for most of the evening, but as I normally do, at about 6pm I stood up to be ready for the last hour. 9 minutes later I heard deer coming, and then saw them at about 20 yards and closing fast. It is very thick there, I was able to grab my bow without being detected and get ready for the shot. As the first buck walked past at 8 yards I drew and shot him. The shot felt and looked very good. He bolted, followed closely behind by his twin. I listened and thought I heard him go down pretty quickly. I waited a bit, then got out of my stand and retrieved my arrow. I followed this

Not a monster by any means, but a good, clean kill on a nice New Hampshire deer.

The shot was perfect, entering high and tight to the left shoulder and exiting low on the right shoulder, he went a total of about 70 yards.

I should buy a lottery ticket tomorrow, yesterday I made a hole in one in a tournament, and this today.....

Nice hole in one there! I gave up golf because it interfered with shooting my Kanati! Congrats, and I look forward to pics of the new, new Kanati when she gets to you. Jason makes one heck of a bow, doesn't he?
