what fletcher for 5 1/2" ?
« on: September 17, 2012, 11:35:00 PM »
Hi all,
I am needing to buy a fletching jig for 5/12" high-back feathers (going to use shield and banana), I'm also wanting to try a little more twist. I'm using an Arizona EZ right now but, want something different.

What do yall use and like that work for 5 1/2" feathers that have some twist adjustment?

Thanks in advance!
HH

I have both bitz and bpe pros and have found I use the bpe's more often than not!   bitz are nice and will last a lifetime....bpe pros are by far more adjustable!

I've used Vador for years. A Jo-Jan however seems to allow for the most helical twist.

I use both a jo-jan and bitz with my 5 1/2 inch feathers.  Both work well for me.  Both are good and would serve you well I think.

Jo Jan multi-fletcher, reasonable cost and puts a nice amount of helical twist on the feathers.

Jo Jan multi-fletcher for me. Wont break the bank and does a job on a helical fletch.

I have been using Jo-Jans, left and right wings for years.  I have two six by fletchers, after lots of experimenting, I have them both set up with the max twist and still keeping the bone flat on the arrow. They do require redircting the feathers at the tips a bit sometimes.
