Thanks

Texas Ebony is a beautiful wood. I owned a 68" HH "Longbowman Choice" for a while before trading it. The bow was just two long for me but the Texas Ebony was beautiful. Contact Craig at HH Archery for first hand knowledge about this wood. He has been offering it for several years on his site.

I have a riser with Texas ebony as an accent. It looks great, but it's not as dark as Gabon. It is moderately heavy with a nice grain. I like to search for the woods in my bows but I don't remember where I found the Texas ebony. It is more common in Mexico than Texas.

I have a Shrew Classic Hunter with Texas Ebony. One of my favorite woods if you can find a nice board. It is not a true ebony -- more like bacote, but looks a lot like Macassar Ebony at times.

Very nice stuff. More stable than Gaboon. No black at all and difficult to find in anything but 4/4's material (well, difficult to get in any size) It makes great risers and I have used it many times as veneers also. Beautiful dark brown wood and can often times be very figured.

It works great for risers. I've used it and have some some in the shop. Very nice brown as the big guy said.

Dan Toelke loves Texas Ebony from what I've gathered while talking to him. Give him a call.

Actually, I have two Shrew Classic Hunters with Texas Ebony risers. This one is the lighter of the two. You can also see the black phenolic and gray foam in the riser.

I had a RER Arroyo in Texas Ebony and it was a looker. Also had a Firefly longbow with it as well. Very pretty wood.

The belly strip on this Sarrel's BlueRidge SR is Texas Ebony. The back is Marblewood.
You've got to be pretty close to it to see the figure in the T.E....but it's there.
