Anyone Ever Hunted the PINEY WOODS in Texas??

Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone here has ever pig hunted in the Piney Woods preserve in East Texas. I was talking to someone that spends a lot of time outdoors the other day and he told me there are TONS of signs all over the place in the Piney Woods. He tells me it's pretty dense and foreboding though.
Anyone have any experience in there? How is it?

I've got a lease in the Woodville area. I see some hog sign, not a lot.
I did find out that the lease manager had the hogs trapped about 3 years ago.
As far as dense, whoohoo, that is some thick stuff.
As thick as you'll find in North America.

I live in the piney woods of southeast Texas. Most of the feral hogs where I live and bowhunt are nocturnal.

I live in the middle of the piney woods. There are thickets that are very dense. It all depends on where you are hunting. There are areas with lots of game and other areas with lots of hunters and sadly poachers.

I live in the middle of it and thick can be an understatement. And yes there are lots of hogs if you put your time in. They are not like deer they have little to no pattern and are here today and gone tomorrow.

If I wanted to come down and hunt it, where would be the best places to start?
Thanks

I would get a type II permit and look at those areas.

I own land north of Nacogdoches and its like Chrism said they are there one day and gone the next. Also if you go deep into them woods go slow and pay very close attention to your route. I have seen guys get lost and have to be honked out of the woods with a car horn on a 500 acre lease. It is so thick and it all looks the same. But that was on logged paper land that was replanted, very hard to keep your sense of direction after dark. As far as thick you will not find anything thicker in the lower 48. Its a jungle in there, but if your willing to go deep and put your time in you will almost definetly be succesful. That place is full of hogs I bet. Don't worry to much there is no place better if you want to be alone than a East TX thicket.
