I, too, would like more of a selection on affordable, heavy wool pants than what's currently offered in the market.  I have two of Teresa's wool pullovers and really like them.  It doesn't get too cold here in Texas as it does up north, but having spent a few nights sleeping outdoors or in my truck in the winter time, I've noticed I can bundle up my torso quite nice to stay warm, but unless I've got some longjohns and heavy wool pants, my lower body suffers from the cold.  Many of the heavy wool pants I've found cost more than $100.  I'm sure they work and look great, but I was able to find some good, heavy wool pants for about $20-$25 shipped from an online army-navy surplus store.  They're the U.S. military OD Korean War era surplus pants.  I'd do a google search for them for anyone that's interested.

I think I have that link saved also, just waiting for some $ and when it's cold enough to even think about it  :)

I like the west German loden boiled wool trousers.  Thick wool, wind proof, but still quite.  They have cargo pockets and front pockets that button closed with a flap.  I have 4 or 5 pairs of them and I didn't pay more than $12 a pair for any of them.  I even broke a coffee pot and spilled the boiling contents all over my legs with a pair on, didn't even burn my skin- was hot though.

Stickbowhntr, Here's a link that shows what they look like.

However, I never paid that much, I know you can find them much cheaper.  I got most of mine at a local farmers market (Zerns) when there was a surplus seller there.
