Yes, I've found four on my farm.  My buddies have found them on theirs as well.  EHD and blue tongue are at scary levels in Missouri.  Have you found any lately?

I have no water on my property but have heard from others in our area that they have been finding quite a few dead deer. We were just starting to recover from the last bought of blue tongue and now it hits again.  I am on eastern side of state just south of st. louis

I've been out 9 times and haven't seen a deer while on stand, I've seen a few while going to and from and that's it.
I have found two dead does, no apparent cause of death?   This is near a small stagnant creak, I don't like the way this season is starting out, but I'll make the best of it.
Might become a squirrel hunter, seen lots of them.

This season will be an interesting one. Good luck all. Steve

A biologist friend says that there is talk that  a might is what could be killing off these deer.  Maybe with the drought it is the reason.  Who knows we will see what they all say..........

If it is EHD, a midge fly transmits the disease to the deer.  There are a handful of counties here in Michigan that have got hit hard with EHD.  A good hard freeze is the only thing that will kill off the midges.

With the drought we have had this year, it does not surprise me.  A whole herd of deer drinking from the same stagnant water hole - heck that's just a recipe for disease transmission!

I will have my first time out this weekend in North/Central Missouri.  I'll let you know what I see.  My guess is not alot - populations were way down last year as compared to the previous.
