Camo????? or Comfort?????
« on: August 11, 2007, 01:27:00 PM »
What do you feel is most important while hunting?????

Being Camo'd????? or Being Comfortable?????

(and being "Comfortably Camo'd" doesn't count LOL)

Over the years I have become more concerned with comfort instead of camo. I have been wearing earth toned 100% wool sweaters that I buy at the Good Will store for just a few bucks apiece. I haven't found anything that keeps me warmer or more comfortable than Big,Cozy,pull-over wool sweater (or 2 or 3.....)

I voted for comfort BUT I kinda cheat in real life and get both. I wear whatever is temperature/weather appropriate and then put my ASAT 3D Pro Vanish suit on over it. The best of both worlds.

We can easily have comfort with or without camo ... and just as easily be miserable with either. The only thing that has prompted me to buy camo in the past decade or so is the availability of relatively cheap stuff designed for hunters -- that is, lots of pockets. More and more these days, manufacturers are catching on and offering lots of pockets in "woods tone" colors other than camo. That's what I buy. Cotton remains superior in cooler weather. Wool when it's cold and/or wet. The pattern printed on it means nothing in visceral terms. But I applaud your attempt to get an interesting thread going! Right now, "in full velvet" as we all are, it's all fun. Dave

If it's either-or (which is certainly isn't), then comfort.  I get both with the clothing I have.

AGREED DAVE!!!!!

In really warm weather I usualy wear a pair of cotton camo cargo pants and a long sleeve camo T-shirt!!!!! However.....I usualy tie a wool sweater around my waist just in case I get cold.

I have lots of camo clothing.....I'm a clearance rack JUNKIE!!!!! But.....almost all of it is cotton, with some poly fleece mixed in.

You will almost ALWAYS see me wearing cotton camo cargo pants for several reasons.....1) My legs VERY RARELY ever get cold. 2) They are very comfortable.(next best thing to a pair of blue jeans LOL) 3) They have LOTS of pockets!!!!!

The other thing I buy LOTS of is long sleeve camo T-shirts (XXXL) these are easily put over a wool sweater or two,or they can be worn alone.

Most times when you see me roaming the mountains,or still-hunting the wood lots,I'll be wearing a pair of camo cargo pants and a brown or gray wool sweater   :archer:

I went with camo.  You can forget comfort down here during early bowseason.  You could hunt in a Speedo and you would still be pouring sweat.   "[dntthnk]"

Well, I went with Camo but I don't wear it if its not comfortable. Its a bit of a trade off but most of all has to do with your hunting style and territory.

I voted comfort, I wear earth tone clothing. I have wool trousers, wool button up shirts and pull over sweaters for winter. Early season is just normal cotton trousers and button up shirts and I am comfortable.
