Midwestern deer hunting in October ???

What do you all have to say about deerhunting in October (especially the first two weeks).

I have only taken a couple of bucks during this time described by some as the "October Lull".

What have your experiences shown you?

Thanks, Skychief.

I have shot quite a few "short hair" deer in late September, very early October. The deer are still following summer travel patterns around crop areas which are still standing for the most part. Not as many hunters out yet either. Great time to be out there.
