Selfbow is up to bat.
« on: September 27, 2012, 11:35:00 AM »
Hung the Widow up for a little while. Hunting with one of my selfbows now.

Have some Ace tipped rivercane, stone tipped rivercane and some
zwickey tipped cedars that are shooting great out of this one.

I didn't but yes these Zwickies are painted. They used to be on some cedars that looked like the BW paint pattern.

Thanks for the compliments guys. That stone point is not my best one. Not the sharpest but it flys very well.

I shot one I have with a 3-1 ratio tigerstriped obsidian head today. It also flies extremely well. It will be 1st up out of my stone points. It will have to be resharpened though.

The bow is 50lbs @ 28".

Good luck.

Must must warn you though, after you take a critter with a selfbow the glass bows tend to gather a lot of dust.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

Very true Walt. I rarely shoot glass anymore. If it wasnt for the bow Kenny made me in the trade this year I wouldn't even have a glass bow strung up in the house.
