Just a few pictures of something i always wanted to do.An a thank you to my brother Doug for letting me use his farm in Northern Missouri as my own what an awsome place 13 miles south of Iowa line..
I was only in the stand about 30 minutes an this doe was headed to the field i had trimmed a small hole in a bush for my shot at about 13 yards down hill shot my heart was really pounding.
i pulled the string back an let my stone tipped cane shaft fly.i looked like a great hit as i seen the doe spin to her left "shot in the passenger side" i could see the stone head sticking out about 4 or 5 inches.all i could think is WOW that baby went all the way through.
i wasen't long i heard the big crash in the leaves i knew she was down.. it took me an my girlfried 3 days of hard looking to find all the pieces to my arrow that was broken running between the trees.if you look in the picture you can see the head is missing along with the fletched end..
we looked friday night,Saturday an sunday an on Monday morning my girlfriend found the head laying at the base of a tree!if fit perfectly back togeather so i have all the arrow. What a great trip...
you can see in the arrow picture how the ribs chipped the edge of the head.it cut one rib in half an cut another half thru what a head! i didnt make the head."i wish i had that much talant"
