like the grip on my hunter bow alot.  curt has you trace your hand and builds the grip using that.  another awsome grip is the one the hitman put on his pass around.

Don't. forget, almost every custom bowyer. will build a grip to your specs.  I personality recommend Brian at Tall Tines.   I gave him the specs of what I wanted, and he nailed it perfectly.

My vote goes to Centaur for 1 piece and Dryad for 3 piece.

Big Jim has been the best I've tried and I've owned several.

For me it is the grip on my Dwyer Dauntless. Close second was the Tomahawk Diamond Series Woodland Hunter I used to have.

I like what Ron W said about Hill grips on page #1.  Personally I love Steve Turay's slight dish grip, but I also really like the wedge straight grip of my Shrew Hill.  I love the Hill style grips.

For me it's Kanati for one piece and Dryad Orion for three piece. I've never tried a two piece, so I have no preference there. Most of the custom bowyers will do their darnedest to give you a grip that fits you, but this question is like asking which girl is prettiest or which truck is best.

Everyone you ask will have his/her own opinion. My family tends to run toward wide palms and short fingers, so we can get along with pretty similar grips. For others, they wouldn't be worth a hoot.

Although I like the FEEL of Hill style grips, I can't seem to shoot very consistently with them. The Kanati and Orion grips kind of force my hand to be in the same position every time. Apparently I need that because I shoot them well on my bad days and great on my good days. I can't say that for the Hill grip. Your mileage WILL vary.

I certainly haven't tried them all but am fond of the grip on my Sarells Archery Sierra.  Grips though are a very personal thing; what fits me won't fit another.

I've had a few different longbows, and get along well with a lot of different grips.  It just doesn't make as much diffference to me.  BUT, I like the Black Widow 'Toby' grip better than any other I've tried.  I'd like to try a Shrew sometime because the Shrew grip looks awesome to me.

The ones that are custom shaped to fit your hand are best.

I know quite a few bowyer's who will do that for you.  kirk

Grips are a very personal thing. Favorites to name a few are Dan Toelke's Whips, John McCullough's Griffins, Greg Coffey's Shrews, Jason Kendall's Kanatis and Jim Neaves Centaurs. All are crafted by hand and each can have subtle differences. Just as an example I've been through over a dozen plus Griffins to find two that have the "perfect" grip for me even though they look the same. As soon as you put it in your hand and launch a few arrows with them you just know. I've told myself in the past "I'll get used to it" but I was only kidding myself, either they fit or they don't.

I can't agree more.  The Best grip is the best one for you.  I have said the same thing before, "I'll get used to it"...never did.

I have to say Byron Ferguson's grip is rock solid....:-).

Kidding aside, I am partial to the Toelke Whip grip and the straight Great Northern. Shooting them both makes me practice different parts of my form.  I seem to shoot each better when I am shooting them both.

I agree with Kirk,we learn what grips are common from you guys and we build all are shop bows with  a common grip.If someone wants or needs a special grip we will do that too.If you guys that got to shoot are Cyclone longbow durring the pass around many of you commented on how much you liked the grip. That was a common grip for most shooters.

My own fits me best but of all theother bows I have felt the grip on that was a standard grip the one that stood out to me was Habu.
Kirk said it though. Nothing like having a bowyer build a grip to fit you. Several bowyers can do that.
God bless you all, Steve

Chad Francis made my Judge specifically to fit my hand, but I couldn't find a single one of his Lost Creek bows that didn't feel really great.

As stated earlier, grips are a personal thing but for me now that ive got a "grip" on a straight grip, i find that it is my favorite no matter the size or maker.
