Jacket for hunting?

I'd like to find a good quality jacket similar to my canvas duck Carhartt jacket but in camo. Something similar to this:http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/c....aspx?a=568517
All I find locally is fleece or some other wimpy fabric that will catch on briars. What do you use?

I tend to use vests, and I like wool.  Filson makes nice vests, as do others.  They really don't wear very fast. I have several.  My green one is 5 years old and passes for new.  If you get cold, a lined vest works fine.  This leaves your arms less bulked up for shooting arrows.  Our arms typically don't get cold as easily as our core.

I agree with Charles. I put on a nice heavy under shirt a wool shirt and then a Filson vest,and this really gives you a lot of room to move.

Folks, here in the woods of NC with our cat-briars, wool wouldn't work.  You'd be lucky to be able to walk 30 yards through the woods without getting hung up like a trapped 'coon....

At one time Carharrt had a line of camo, you may check the auction site for some. Also Southern States sold a line made by Key that was a Carhartt type of clothing that was available in camo.

Was just in a local store yesterday, they had pretty much the whole carhartt line in camo. Shouldnt be too hard to find.
Personally id like to pick up some nice waterproof microfleece.

I'll check my local Tractor Supply and see if they have any Carhartt camo.  I didn't realize they made it.

I got my baby daughter carhartt in pink camo so they should have in other camos then.

Tight fleece like the type Under Armour makes is great in the briars and it is water resistent, too. I wear Carharts sometimes, but never when briars are around since they sound like loud zippers going through briars.

I just got an Ultimate Camo fleece outfit. The outer fleece is not the kind that catches on things...more like a micro fleece. Very quiet but not "catchy". It is lined with another soft fabric that reminds me of lambs wool except that it is synthetic. Love the jacket. Great for cool weather as is or colder it can be layered underneath...and I love the pattern.

When not using wool, I use a military M-65 field jacket in the old style eastern woodland camo. It's warm, sheds water fairly well and is tough as nails. It works great.Plus, it is a lot cheaper than many other jackets I have seen.

Swandri Shirt/jac when it's just cool out. Swandri Long coat when it's cold. I wish you could still get it,I'd buy some more shirts and pants for sure. Very tight weave,but it will still catch on briars.

depends on the weather..I have an archers jacket that I've used for years. It's a nylon/cotton blend that works great cool but not cold weather. When its cold I use a wool sweather with a windshear lining with a wool vest..I find it more versatile that a jacket
