Recomendations for climbing tree stand
« on: August 12, 2007, 06:47:00 PM »
I am looking for a good climbing stand that is lightweight, strong, and quiet.  Anyone have any suggestions.  Also i shoot a 68" longbow so clearance needs to be considered.

Two words, Lone Wolf.
The old order is passing. Swiftly receding into memory are the days of strong, earnest men who followed an atavistic yearning to pit their skills against wild animals.

Ditto on lone wolf or Summit.  I have been equally happy with both brands.

The buckshot has been my favorite for a long time.I just got a lone wolf/handclimber (17.5lbs) and like the way it works. It is almost 5 lbs lighter than my buckshots (22 lbs)and is easy to set up quietly but does have a little smaller platform on it.It carrys better because it folds down nice and I will use it a lot this year.

I have used both summit tree stands and API climbers. The summit was a little bit lighter, but the API is quieter, imho. like them both.

Lone Wolf for me, too.  Pricey, yes, but worth every penny.

Lone Wolf, I have yet to find a climber and I have looked at and tried a lot, that packs easier and is as quiet as the LW. Hands down the best! Shawn

Loggy Bayou,

May not be as packable as the lone wolf, but it is more rock solid when attached to the tree, more comfortable, and easier on your wallet.

I spend more time sitting in my loggy bayou climber than I do packing it around.
