Do you shoot with your bow quiver attached?
« on: October 09, 2012, 09:39:00 PM »
I am currently using a hip quiver but I find it a bit cumbersome in the thick woods that I have been hunting so I bought a small 3 arrow bow quiver for my recurve. I have shot with it on but I assume that when I hunt a stand or from the ground I will take it off to shoot. What do you guys think? pros and cons?

I like shooting my bow with out a quiver, the best. With that  said I always hunt with a quiver on my bow (recurve). Its just alot handier for me.

I shoot with my bow quiver on. Whether I'm in a stand or not.  I, personally, just feel more comfortable with it there.

NO!

I use a GN quick mount quiver to carry my arows in and it comes off the bow once I am on stand.

I have hunted with my hip quiver and I always return to my bow quiver... it is so much easier to maneuver thru brush and it is faster for me to get a second shot....

I love the added weight of a bow quiver. I have faster second shots on small game, and I feel that it helps with a 'consistent cant' if that makes sense.

When I use one I leave it on.  A couple of my bows actually feel better with one--adds a little ballast.

I keep mine on all year long so nothing is different during the hunt. I also like the convenience of a bow quiver. I can grab a blunt or broad head without looking for the arrow I need because of repitition.

Only because it's too much trouble to take off.

X2..

I also shoot 3D with my bow quiver installed and with broadheads on those arrows too. I use a side quiver with target points on those arrows when shooting 3D.

I always have a quiver on my bow. Can't beat the convenience for arrow access, IMO.

I don't have a problem shooting with one, but prefer not to. I always take mine off when on stand.

Thanks for the comments!!  I actually thought the bow was a bit more stable with the quiver and I like the way it shot. Looks like im leaving it on!!   wooo hooo, now...  Off to the woods!!  maybe after some sleep first...

Shoot with it on, helps to balance out the bow IMO, making it easier to naturally cant the bow over.

That said, having the right quiver makes the difference; if it's too big or heavy it makes the bow awkward, so matching the quiver size to the bow makes a big difference IMO.

Nope. I like the way a bow feels without one. Its the way the bow was made. I understand the convience of them but for me I like a bare bow.

I thought they were the bees knees until I actually tried traipsing throught the woods with one. I thought it made the bow twist out of my grip while carrying it.

I got me a safari tuff arrowmaster and haven't looked back.
