Vintage Works '64 Kodiak
« on: October 11, 2012, 03:34:00 PM »
I'm on the list for a Vintage Works bow and of late I've been leaning towards his '64 Kodiak bow.  For me the attraction is the increased riser mass/weight which is a feature I tend to shoot better.  What do you guys think of a '64 Kodiak in general and the Vintage Works' version in particular?  Now to figure out the riser woods...

Fortunately you only need to figure one. The '64 had one wood in the riser.

The 64 Kodiak was and still is an amazing shooting bow.
Most will agree with that.
I have not personally shot any VW bows yet but I hear good things about them.

Incidently, there are plenty of original 64 kodiaks out there to buy.
Great deals lately too....good luck

The 64 Kodiak is supposed to be one of the best performing Kodiaks.I have not handled one of VW's but do own one of his 59 Hybrids.A truly great bow.I don't see how you could be disappointed. His bows seem to be as true to original design as I've seen, except for being FF compatible and custom choices of wood and glass.

You might contact Droptine who hangs out on the Trad history,Collecting forum. He owns several VW bows and may be able to tell you more.
