Condolences  :(
An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

Christy, I think it is so cool that you would go back out and hunt in the places your Dad introduced you to and spent special times together.

Will it be difficult?  Most certainly.  Your emotions will no doubt run high, and your Dad will be foremost in your thoughts.  But that is good, because it means that you will be that much closer to him.  Trust me, he will be right there with you!  The feelings and memories will be just as poignant as if he were sitting physically at your side.

May God bless you and the entire family

Christy,
I find great joy in doing things my Dad and I used to do together.  Whenever I stalk squirrels I remember walking in his footsteps and him tolerating the sticks that broke under my 9-year old feet (a long time ago).

No way I can look at a bobber floating on a pond without seeing Dad's face looking back at me.

If I see a pile of fresh green leaves on a trail, I'm careful to step over or around -- Dad about busted a gut the day I was following behind him about 30 minutes and learned that one!

Whenever one of those really fast flying grasshoppers gets up in front of me I remember Dad asking me to catch him a few for bait, so he could get a bit of a break from my incessant questioning.

I'm sure it is hard for you now.   Those places and activities that were so important to you and your Dad will become precious connections, in time. Embrace them as he would you.

We lost another great TradGanger in 2012.

Mr Donald 'NAKOHE' Rowan....Brother to Danny Rowan.

Danny had been to Solana before and Donald was on the list a couple of time but things came up and even though he always wanted to go, he never made the hunt.

So, Danny sent one of Donald's bows to the ranch, and I requested a broadhead of Donald's.

We gathered around one of the most scenic places on the ranch for a Memorial for Donald, and its the same place we had the Memorial for Chris Surtees after his passing.

I picked a dark hole to send the broadhead into the ground with Donald's bow along side Chris' Ceremonial marking where some of his ashes were spread by his Dad Larry.

Here are a few clips, and a video.  Sorry if I didn't come across clear, as these type of things don't come easy for me.

A Solana Tribute to Donald Rowan......

Thank you so much for the kind tribute to the man that was and is my husband.  He touched so many lives and he was touched by so many of you. I am so grateful.

Terry,

Thank you so much, very moving, tears are flowing right now for my Bubba. I thank you and all of the Solana TG crew for taking the time to honor him and shoot his bow, it is something that is very dear to me and i will treasure the moment forever.
