Sometimes I wonder!  This mornings buck at 10 yards. Looked him over thru the brush before he came in the timber with me , looked narrow, so when he came in I snapped a few poor pics of him(need a better camera)

He looks like a fine mature deer, but just didn't trip my trigger. After he moved out of range, I saw the lil droptine and 2 more vertical stickers!! LOL

MAN, am I having fun tho!!  :bigsmyl:
Stay sharp, Kenny.

Send that "little one" down to SE LA.  I'll take care of him for you!   :)

Well if you know you have bigger bucks on the property that helps.  I think this deer will be a real bruiser in a few.  You can't shoot a big one if you shoot a little one.   :readit:

But his bow will remain steady, and his hands will be skillful; because of the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, because of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  (Genesis 49:24 [NETfree])

It may be nuts to some but your last sentence sums it up well. As long as you are having fun it's okay to be "nuts".

I've only got 8 days to hunt whitetails per year... I sure  I would have 'let' him hold one of my arrows.

Well ... um ... yeah, you are nuts.  I would have tried to take him.

Heck, if you were not feeling it, then good on ya for letting him walk.  I jsut hope you are not like me ... I usually regret it when I let bucks walk because I rarely get another chance to see them again ... lots of pressure by me.

Here is hoping a better buck comes your way.

I would have missed him anyhow.

I've found that if you have to ask that question, then yes, you generally are nuts.  Not for passing the deer though  :)

I like those big, fat, bruiser deer like that one.  they sure are hard to drag though.

I brightened the pic a lil, you can see the 2-3" drop ,looks like a lite spot on his left main beam(I think)     :D

I  must be nuts as well. Last year I would have shot the deer in the photo without a second thought.  This year I have let a gang of four 8s that that size and perhaps even with better racks go past me a number of times.  But then I do have a reason for it,  they ain't does and none of them have that 26" wide rack I saw them following a couple of times.
I do not think the deer in the photo will grow all that much of a better rack than he has, I would guess that he is a fairly mature deer, judging by his body shape and size.

Nope, acting nuts is taking the shot when you don't really want to.  Good job!     :archer:

That's certainly better than what we see around here.

Impressive bod thats for sure Kenny. He is definitely mature. You've got better ones. Good pass. Plus those big fat ones are harder for your wife to drag out.

Thats what I told Bro, he probably won't get much more bone.

And, Tom, wife has a strict "YOU KILL IT YOU CLEAN IT" policy. That includes gettin it home too. Bro's back is out, so might have had to quarter him up!  :p

She don't mind cookin wild game, but the year we cut up 13 deer(not all mine) hasn't left her mind just yet....  :biglaugh:
