your GT arrow setups
« on: October 14, 2012, 09:19:00 PM »
Shooting a Bob Lee 54# @28" takedown longbow, wondering what your GT arrow setups are.I have used the 35/55 and the 55/75 as well.Useing a 175 Simmons tigershark, and 50 grain insert, seems the 35/55 work the best even though they should be way too weak. What are your GT arrow setups? My draw length is right at 28",thanks

I am shooting 3555s with a 50 gr. insert and 150 gr. points out of a 49# Big Jim Buffalo.  They seem to do good but I am wanting to add more weight up front.  How do you like those Tigersharks?  I just ordered some to try.

My GT's are 29" 55/75 stock insertss... was shooting a 200 grain point, But its to stiff for my setup so I just ordered 100 grain inserts and they should be pretty close after that.

Bow is 56lb pronghorn longbow.

I shoot 28" 3555s or 5575s aluminum inserts 100 grain steel screw in glue ons with 125 woodsmans up front.  3555s weigh 505 grains. 5575s weigh  560 grains and are footed an inch, both set ups fly great or me depending on wether i want to shoot a little more weight or shoot a little flatter
Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

I use 35/55 cut to 29in with50 grain inserts. I use 145 grain pts. My bow is a Wes Wallace Royal, 55lb. at 28in.
This setup works in my Bear takedown as well. Same specs as the Wallace.
That said I like Axis 500 cut to 29in. with 100 grain inserts. I use 145 points and heads. I do like the deeper penetration of the skinny shafts.

I cut my GT 35/55 arrows to 28 3/4" BOP. Use the 50 grain insert with 175 grain points. They seem to fly out of every one of my 45-50# longbows and recurves.
