My Top Three
« on: October 16, 2012, 07:16:00 PM »
Just got Mississippi season underway and we all think a lot hanging from a tree. I was thinking about my Top favorite Bowhunting Accessories...here they are in no order.

1. KME Knifesharper with Stones.......it does the job! portable, well made\\. I keep my stones clean with Break Free gun slovent... Most importantly, i can get a smokin razor edge on my BH with it that is so sharp it almost cuts my eye when i look at it.

2. Smokeys Coon Urine..(female)..............it WORKS....deer after deer cross my stinky leather boot trail and never check up. I wear Russell snakeboots till Nov down here because we got Snakes and a lot of them..Smokeys coon urine helps me masks the leather.

3. Fenix Wensel Bros. Light....compact, powerful , right size..well made... I own two in case lord forbid i lose one...always in my pocket. Those two  flashlight salesmen arent too bad a guys either.

What are some of ya'lls? i am always learning  :)

im a western guy, but here goes anyway..

1. leupold gold ring switch power 10/17x42 binos-  the switching to 17 has saved me walking many miles...

2. hanwag boots-  finally got a great pair of boots.  yes they were pricy, but i wish id have done it years ago.

3.cabelas classic rag wool sweaters- theyre warm, fairly water resistant, great neautral colors that blend in well, look good enough to wear with jeans in town, comfy to shoot in, and i can get 3 of em for under $100.  best deal ive found in hunting clothes anywhere.
is it September yet??

Keeping it to just 3...

1.  Patagonia DAS parka.  The warmest coat I own, but still very light (28 ounces), has its own stuff sack so it stuffs down to maybe half the size of a very small sleeping bag.  Nice to know its in the pack so if it gets real cold I can pull it on and I'm ok.  Or I can get back to camp all cold and thrashed and pull that on, like pulling on a sleeping bag.  Warm enough it's my around town coat in the coldest weather here, way-way-way below zero.

2. Sitka 90% coat.  Light, waterproof enough for most of the time, and really like the zippered pockets for a camera. And it fits close so no blousing that could catch my bow string.

3.  Patagonia puff vest.  Can't believe how warm it is, weighs next to nothing and doesn't stick out much at all under #2.
