so far. . .I don't.  I can get them kinda sharp, but not sharp enough to use yet.

All my sharpening gear is flat or square. I think I need to invest in a diamond hone that is rounded.  I saw one in one of the other "how to"s and want one.  I think that will make a difference.

Until then. . .  well they look cool !

I've been using the Land Sharks for the first time this season. I re-profiled the angle of the bevel with a homemade half-round file with a rod welded to the end to make it compatible with my Lansky system and finished with the Lansky hones. They're not radiused, but are narrow enough to get into that area of the heads.  I think you'll find that the majority concensus will be either the Accu-sharp or the "wheelie" (Rada) that Simmons sells.  Hard to beat either of them for quick results.  Tutorials can be found here for both.  For field touch-ups I use the Jewelstick.

I assume you are talking about Simmons Sharks?

I have been using them for a couple of seasons now and can get them really sharp using nothing but an Accusharp.

Go to the how to section here and there is a very good thread of how I sharpen them. I think its by landshark160 but don't quote me on that.

I made up a strop by taking a board the size of a bench stone and radiused the top. Think the shape of loaf of bread. Then I glued down a piece of leather and charged half with black buffing compound and the other side with green compound. A rounded top makes it easy to control what part of the blade you're sharpening. Simmons also come with a pretty established edge so aggressive sharpening should'nt be necassary but if I needed more grit I would just put some appropriate sandpaper over the strop.

Steel master is the only way to go. It will get them scary sharp. I have never been able to sharpen anything not even a pencil and even I can get them sharp with it.

My opinion best money you'll ever spend!
Dave is also top notch if you have any questions about it.

I bought a coarse and a fine half round file and cut them in half, about the size of the stones that came with my lanskey type sharpener. Then I welded a rod to them so they were compatible with the sharpener and that works great for me.

I just bought some Tigersharks and used my Lansky Crockstick sharpener on them.  I can get one shaving sharp in just a couple of minutes with it.  It is also great on knives and any other 2 blade broadhead that I have used it on.

Thanks for all the replys guys. I fancy myself a sharpening guru, been doing it for other folks since I was 13, knives, axes, broadheads, farm implements,. I have high speed buffing wheels with polishing grit from 180-600 for buffing guns before I hot blue them, puts a beyond razor sharp edge in a minute or less. Played with them some today, light strokes with a fine machinist file and a accusharp leaves them pretty good to go. I just wanted to see what you guys thought, try to learn something every day.

I love my Steelmaster. Best $40 I ever spent on gear. I use it for all my 2 blades and knives too.
