my first trad bow
« on: October 19, 2012, 12:25:00 PM »
Greetings tradgang. I've been shooting compound for 30+ years and have accomplished most of what i want to with it in hunting and target. time for a new challenge.

my buddy is a state champion longbow shooter so he helped select and order a trad bow for me. My only requirement was that it must be something i will not grow out of or get too old/weak to shoot. He told me what he would get so i called Bob and had him send me a riser to try out. it fit like a glove so i ordered a set of rc and lb limbs for it. Only the rc limbs have come in so far but i am very pleased with how the bow looks and shoots.

45# @28" is getting me 179-180fps every time with 400gn arrows. seems very consistent.

Trad is, of course, very humbling coming from freestyle compound but i am starting to get the hang of it and am enjoying it more than i thought i would.

here are a few more shots of the bow.
