Fletching position and arrow flight?

I've just fletched up my first ever batch of woodies and my arrows are looking great. Only problem is I have the fletching located about 1/4 of an inch too far forward on the arow (my shooting style incorporates a feather to the nose at full draw).

If I shuffle one feather back the quarter inch and leave the other two as they are presently would this adversely affect arrow flight? I know it won't look the greatest but I don't wanna have to pull ALL of the freshly applied fletching off if it won't cause a problem with how the arrow flies.

I assume it would... not an expert on the topic though but it stands to reason considering everything else that uses drag to stabilize it.

It might be interesting to move one vane on one or two of the arrows and see if they fly differently from the rest. I wouldn't want to bet much on the outcome either way, but I'd love to hear the answer if you try it.

If the arrows are tuned to the bow I don't think it will matter.
I've seen some pretty messed up fletching still fly very well.

Another option would be to glue on a 1/4 inch extra section of fletching to the back of the cock feather and trim it to match.

I have experimented with Vane and Feather placement when I shot the C Bow's.I have made Fletching about any configuration that you can think of, and they always flew fine,whatever orentation that I had used.Will look funny, but I would be willing to bet,that you wont see the difference.Make one and give it a try.

I use the fletching to the nose as a second anchor point too(took Rich Welches shooting class). I purposely fletch my arrows with the cock feather about an inch ahead of the other two. I like to keep the two feathers closest to the sight window back as far as I can to avoid possible contact and for better stearage. If I tune my arrows, make a clean release, keep my bow arms still and don't make othe mistakes the arrows fly like darts and hit where I'm looking.

Its not going to matter. Having them all just a 1/4 " one way or the other not going to matter also.

I fletched some vanes backwards once just to see what would happen . They flew perfectly and exactly like the normally fletched arrows
