Starting Again....
« on: August 14, 2007, 04:58:00 AM »
After a several month layoff, 8 weeks of physical therapy treating Tendonitis in my drawing arm, and a Cortisone shot in the second finger of my drawing hand for "Trigger Finger" (the tendon is inflamed to the point that it sticks in the sheath surrounding it, causing the finger to lock up) I've begun to shoot my recurves again.

It's not entirely pain free, but a damnsite better than it was.  I can't shoot as many arrows or as often as I like, but it's better than not shooting at all.

The doc advised that if the Trigger Finger doesn't heal completely after a couple more Cortisone shots over the 4 couple months, he'll
fix it with a minor surgical procedure.

I advised that's fine as long as it's after hunting seasons...

What weight are you shooting? Also might be time to try 3 under if you don't already.  3 under will make finger problems go away....
When a man shoots with a bow it is own vigor of body that drives the arrow,  his own mind controls the missile's flight......His trained muscles and toughened thews have done the work

Thanks.

John, I'm all ready a 3 Under shooter. All my bows are 51-55lbs at 29".

I suspect the finger problem is going to have to be fixed come Winter.  It's really a bugger when it stays curled and doesn't relax smoothly on release...

Best of luck. I started shooting again today myself after my latest set of sutures finally came out.
