Best of both worlds, you let him live and have a great pic!

Couple of thoughts:  First, shooting albino animals may not be legal in your state - it's not legal in Wisconsin (at least for deer).  Second, as far as I know, Albinos can't reproduce -they're sterile.  Third, I don't think I'd shoot it just because it is so neat to see...............on the other hand it would sure make a neat mount.

What it all boils down to is your own personal ethics.  As, I believe Aldo Leopold said, "Personal ethics are what we do when know one else is watching".  Which ever way you decide is fine by me as long as it's fine with you.

When I first retired from the Navy I took a job in pensacola Naval Air Station golf course as a greens keeper,we had 3 albino squirels there, between the red tail hawks and the foxes we lost only one they are very wary.I always looked forward to seeing them.

My little brother and I used to run around the neighborhood with bb guns and shoot rabbits and squirrels(our parents were at work and didn't know).  There where two squirrels off limits an albino and one that was missing 3/4th of it tail.

I saw one in NE CT a couple years ago. I watched it for a half hour or so while my son played soccer. A couple weeks later, I saw it again....Smooshed on the road with his nice white tail blowing in the wind.
I would take him and send him straight to the taxidermist.

You got the only trophy I would need.  Great pic! There are plenty of others to eat.

That's a nice photo. You counted coup on him with your camera and decided to let him live. Nothing wrong with that. I would frame the photo and hang that on the wall.

It is a personal thing.  There is no right answer.  I would have shot him.  But then again, I have passed on other critters that many people would have shot. An albino or piebald game animal is higher on my list than a double drop tine buck.  Well...at least as high.  Ok, maybe second.

I watched one close to my hone for a while til he got rub over. Lucky me I found him and snatched him off of the road in good shape. I gave him to my taxidermist. I have never killed one, I just wouldn't. That's a great pic.
