Things are starting to pick up
« on: October 28, 2012, 10:17:00 AM »
The last few days we have been watching bucks bugging the does and we are seeing them at all time of the day from the stand .Eagleeye has even passed up a 7 pt last night.Because we are seeing some great bucks around his stand Eagleeye is hoping to kill his first buck with his bow soon.Anyone else seeing anything going on?Friday we had a big 8pt chasing does around us and last night we had 4 bucks come by one 6pt one 3pt one 7pt and one 8pt that he was slobbering over just didn't come close enough.

After this mornings hunt this is 7 outta the last 9 sits were I've seen young bucks chasing & grunting.Their dogging the does so hard it's hard to get a doe to stand still long enough to get a shot.I'd say were 7-10 days(maybe sooner) from all "HECK" breaking loose...

Had a small buck dogging a doe yesterday.  I've heard bucks grunt many times before and long tending grunts at that, but never anything like this.  He would just stand in one place and watch that doe while letting out loooong 5-10 second grunts followed by shorter ones.  If the doe took even a half step he got all riled up.  I was surprised every buck in the area didn't show up to check things out with all the noise he was making.  Sure wish they would have as I had no intension of shooting him.  It was really neat to watch nonetheless!

Saw a couple of young bucks thinking about the ladies this morning, but the ladies weren't interested just yet. But, it won't be long!

Just got a phone call from one of my hunting buddies. This afternoon he watched a big buck absolutely kick the snot out of a smaller buck. I'm looking forward to the next few days.

Saw a 2 year old 8 last night.  He  sure acted like he wanted to find a hot doe.  He was fighting with a smaller buck and eventually ran him off.  The cold temps got them frisky for sure.  A week or so and they will be hot.
Take a kid hunting!

Talked with the farmer and he said the young ones are starting to nose around some does.  Can't wait to get out when this storm passes.
