What Kind Of Fletcher Do You Use?
« on: August 14, 2007, 12:58:00 PM »
What kind of arrow fletcher do you tradgangers use? I have used a JoJan for about 10 years. Works great. 6 arrows at a time. I am also just starting to use a BPE Pro Fletcher. Making some spruce Flu Flu's with a five fletch on the BPE. Jim.

Bitzenburger.  I love it.  One at a time, but with Bohning fletching tape, it doesn't really make a difference.  It's not like there is a drying time, so you finish one, take it out and move to the next.  I normally can fletch a dozen with 3 feathers each at about 45 minutes total, 4 fletch takes me about an hour for the dozen.
All the best,
Glenn

I will be using fletch tape for the first time as soon as I get my shafts dipped. Any tricks to using the tape or is it simple to use? Jim.

Bitzenburger. I have tried hand-fletching, though.

I use multiple Grayling fletchers, straight, LW and RW helical. Works great but need to clean the clamps regularly. I use superglue but will try fletching tape soon.

The fletching tape is extremely easy to use.  I followed the directions - real easy, and after the first feather, it was a "ok... I got this", and just rolled on.  I haven't used glue on feathers since I started using the fletch-tape, except to tip both ends of the feather after it is on there - just a dab on the front and back edges, and mine never come off.
