I know where this deer sleeps, what now?

I spooked up this deer out of its bed twice in a row in the dark. I know exactly where it sleeps now. Should I try to sneak up in the dark close and then wait for daylight to get a shot? What do y'all think? Thanks.

I would find his route into and out of the bed...without spooking him again. Hunt AROUND the bedding area, never letting the wind blow your scent down into it.

If the deer stays in the area find where it is feeding and get between the feeding and the bed. Stay downwind from the deer or stay out until the wind is right. Good Luck

Put your self or stand between him and food. Learn the prevailing wind and make sure you pick a spot that is NOT upwind of his bed or path.

If yer after a big buck, and on public land, he's probably found a new bedding area. Go get him!!

Do not be discouraged if you don't see him there again in any pattern. Deer, especialy when pressured at all, change habits. They also change from weather, food, predation, rut, etc., etc.
What everyone else said above....don't get too close.

I highly recommend Gene and Barry Wensels books on this matter.
I'm guilty of alerting bucks to my presence often. This is why I rarely get a shot at one.
I have the books and read them all but need to put to practice!
Best of luck........Philip

I would find a preferred food source, and pick the most likely (hint easiest) trail that you think the buck would take with whatever wind direction is blowing that way, and setup 15 yards downwind of that trail. Also get there plenty of early so that you can move very VERY slowly, as to not disturb him from his bed. Good luck and we are expecting pictures
