American Leathers Crossover
« on: October 29, 2012, 03:34:00 PM »
I guess it's a bit late to ask, but does anybody shoot the Am. Leathers Crossover glove? I have one coming this week after my Martin glove just died. Any thoughts?

Well, I posted on this once already but it disappeared. Spooks I guess.

I love mine. The first few days I didn't like it that much and figured I'd made a mistake. Now I think it's the best damn glove I've ever owned.

My point is... if it doesn't seem quite right at first, stick with it.

I use to focus on my release a little to assure I came off the string just right. Now I don't have to think about it at all and I come off the string just right.

Awesome glove. Felt weird at first, but I continued to use it and just love it.

I'm wanting to try something different than my regular damascus.
Which would you guys suggest? Big shot, cross over, something different?

I will be giving one a try after the hunting season, Rod Cameron really likes his.  Rod sticks to stuff, and for him to endorse this glove, well it says something.

I would try the Big Shot buffalo.  The crossover is a a significantly different glove than a damascus.  Crossover is the other end of the spectrum.

Yup, You'd probably like the BS Buffalo. Took me a little getting used to coming from a dura-glove but I realy like it.

I used to shoot the Howard Hill glove that had teflon inserts in the fingers, it was an awesome glove but shooting 3D's in the summer my fingers used to slip out of them when i got sweaty. Then they closed Northwest Archery where I used to get them and I switched to the American Leather glove when my last HH wore out. Now they have the cross over ....

I loved mine so much so that I just ordered another after losing my original in the woods. At first it was hard to dish out $60.00 for a shooting glove, but after using it I didn't hesitate to dish it out for the replacement.

x2   I have both the regular and the cross-over.  Both great, but the cross-over is the one.   Charlie's words of patience are spot on...

Hope this isn't seen as an attempt to hijack a thread, but of those of you shooting the Crossover, have any of you used an Alaskan Super Glove?

Is the Crossover similar, or is the Super Glove much harder at the finger tips?

I'm thinking the Crossover might be between the Super Glove and the thin, leather gloves. If so, I may have to give it a try.

Crossover is much thicker.  Nylon reinforcements and nylon webbing.  Much stiffer than a superglove.

Well, I got mine today. I took it to the back yard and shot, and I am impressed! It only took a few shots before I got the hang of it. It is going to be a great glove, and if you are thinking about ordering one, I would highly recommend it. It appears to be built to last, and since I go through a glove a year before getting this one, it would be nice for it to make it at least a couple of years. I give it a big thumbs up.

Great news Pat!! Sounds like you are a little quicker on the uptake than I am.

My regular Buffalo Big Shot lasted me 4 years before I gave it to KennyM.
