I always carry a small digital camera in my pocket for pictures like this one while sitting in the tree stand. Anyone else?

I am hoping to see the bigger bucks moving does all day during daylight in a week or two. Until then, I am letting the ladies walk. Hey Bob, I see you are located 95 miles straight east of where I took the photo. How is the rut developing your direction?

I'm not much of a treestand guy, but I have been making like a squirrel for the last week or so. I have been seeing a lot of deer from on high, but nothing has come within range that I had a desire to shoot. This little buck is typical of the deer that have been in range; still waiting for some of the bigger bucks that I have been seeing to get close enough.

Creekwood,

The chase is on buddy, we have had lots of mornings with good hard frosts, the scrapes are checked very often, two or so times a day and if the bucks are not chasing they are looking for does with urgency.  I have had a few near misses with mature bucks ... I am hoping to seal the deal this weekend.  Good luck to ya man.

Oh yeah I hang my grunt tube, rattle bag, bleat can and my camera where they are handy at all times.

This little fella didn't care for my decoy.

This was a great deer and glad I had my camera with me this day.

We were trying to give him one more year. He had made a huge jump from a 2 year old to a 3 year old. Would see him often. It proved to be a major mistake as a gun hunter on the neighboring farm (I hope) shot and lost him during the rifle season about a month after I took these photos. We found him dead in the spring.

That's what happens to all the big ones where I live. I see them, don't get a shot at them and they are gone by the next season. The one from last year was killed by my neighbor's brother on his property during gun season.

Now this is a picture of a young buck. I think might be a 2012 model.
