I broke down and did it............
« on: October 31, 2012, 04:34:00 PM »
I got sucked in by the Big Jim Buffalo bow. I just ordered one he had in stock...... My wife is going to kill me.    It sucks to be addicted to stick bows  :banghead:  I have some pictures to post up tonight. Jim is going to put a beaver tail grip on it for me!

you won't be sorry. I did the same, but bought it 2nd hand from the classifieds. Beavertail grip is totally worth it, you are going to love this bow.

I've got one on order myself. I was looking at the ones he had in stock. I'll be watching to see which one you picked up.

My favorite longbow. I've carried my Buffalo Bow several days this year. I've owned several longbows but the Buffalo is the first one I've hunted with over a recurve!

I am not sure if the craftsmanship of his bows can be beat.

I'm a recurve guy myself. I've always tried to shoot longbows but couldnt really get into it. I shot an Abbott for awhile and really liked it, but still hunted with my recurves.
I shot the buffalo a bit before surgeries and I can see myself hunting with it once I heal up. It's much lighter than my other bows in draw weight so that should help. Still hunting weight though! I cant wait. Here's mine, be sure to post pics when you get it.....

Those are some nice bows! Here is mine. Its not quiet as fancy as some I have seen. But I dont care as long as it shoots good! Jim sent me these pics yesterday. He said he would put the leather grip on today and I would probably have it by Monday or Tuesday!

The beaver tail grip is worth every penny. Your bow will look great when you get it. One of the best things about Jim's bows are how quiet they shoot.

Fancy doesn't mean squat in the woods, that is an awesome bow. If I didn't get mine second hand the way it is, I would have bought a plain jane from Jim to save the extra money.
Do you know what woods were used in the bow?

I got one used off the TradGang classifieds and it's a real joy to shoot. First beavertail grip I've had and really like it. The specs look like "54", but it's a bad pic - really 64" and around 45# at my draw length. As you can see, I have no silencers on it and it's amazingly quiet. Of course I'm shooting some pretty heavy arrows out of it, which helps.

Bet you're going to be really happy!

I think the woods are Goncalo Alves limbs, Shedua riser. Not sure on the tips they are black. Maybe phenolic?

Scott came by yesterday with his new bow it was very nice. Big Jim put a nice beaver tail grip on it, Don made a matching EFA 4 arrow quiver for it. We shot it some and I reserved it with Braided fastflight and it shot great. All I know is that now there are some deer in trouble Slayer is going to live up to his name. Poor deer! LOL LCH
