that first good frost of the fall...

Waking up in a warm sleeping bag to the crackling fire in the wood stove. Its toward the end of a season and you have been primitive camping for a while...your buddy made and poured you a cup of hot coffee, your first morning smoke is in your left hand and the lighter is in your right but the lantern is still a little to bright to light it up, a mouse scampers across the ground...

The grain in your osage selfbow when the light is right...

Shore dinner after dark by the open fire, waves on the rocky shore and an unseasonably warm Sept breeze off the water...

Unfortunately no bear were harmed in the making of these memories

last spring carp hunting some still waters near lake Ontario where I grew up. I smile to think how many hours I spent in those waters for every reason I could think of
