While hunting last week I decided to hunt near a rock pile I knew about that has a red oak and a white oak growing out of it. I had assumed it was a couple of chimney rubble piles but the more I looked at it the more I began to think it was Native American. That evening I searched NA rock pile and found similar photos. On my next hunt I again sat by it and thought of a nearby spring. My search said some piles overlook water as in a lake but why not a spring? Before I left I took a compass reading on it and they were aligned north and south within 6 degrees of perfect alignment. I followed that heading and bingo the spring was also aligned.

The first day I had 6 deer pass by me in range but each time they had been spooked by and ran by with no real shot opportunity.

Um, apparently the seas were rough, blowing sideways...

I have never been one for photography, whether hunting or doing other things. Many times, though I later wished I had.

Can’t pig hunt here for at least the next year. Second one I’ve seen already tonight.

Snow came early to KS this year. I was about 15 minutes late to the tree and a big 12 was already up and in my field at 3 pm.
