a season of contentment
« on: November 03, 2012, 09:26:00 PM »
Its been a great season so far, ive been blessed to have taken a nice doe, as well as still trying to fill another tag, but with that there has been contentment.
Let me explain... for the first time in many seasons i havent been in search of another bow or new gear,  the equipment that i have, performs very well in my hands and suits me just fine.
Hunting from the ground has made my hunts simpler and far more enjoyable than climbing trees,( even though they still call me the "Amish chimp" at work  do to my beard and agility, even at 50).
Add this to the fact that my simplified hunting has become more refined, and you end up with a great season, in which my time afield has been more enjoyable than ever.
Im sure there are different stages that will be experienced by all that hunt, but for me this has been a great season and possibly a great stage.
For this to me has been a season of contentment.
Im not sure what the next stage is, but its gonna be hard to top this one!

Awesome. Sounds like you have reached a state of enjoyment based upon the process and experience whilst putting the results on a secondary back burner.
