Feeder and camera vandalized
« on: November 05, 2012, 11:08:00 PM »
Hunting on a military base. Its about 400 yards to the property line. Thinking it was someone sneeking in. Area isnt patrolled. Had some joker slide my trailcam around pointing at another tree then tipped my feeder over. Feeder undamaged. Treestand and ladder unlocked and were untouched. It was on halloween. Guess I got tricked. Ladder is down/hidden and stand locked. Camera and feeder moved. Could have been worse. Had lock box and python cable on cam so that probably saved it.

Any bears in the area?  Twice I've had a bear rub against my camera, once turning it around the tree to a different direction, and once breaking the strap and removing it from the tree.  I'm sure a bear would also tip a feeder over.

There are hogs in the area, at first thats what I thought it was untill I saw the camera. It was about 4' off of the ground so unlikely an animal did it. The pic it took when the jackwagon moved it was pointing straight up the tree.
