Selfbow shooting question
«

Any thoughts as to why a person would always shoot low when using a selfbow? I've adjusted the nock point considerably but that doesn't seem to affect where the arrow goes - always low. This occurs at close distances without any arc in the arrow's path. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Also depends on what they are used to shooting and the distance between the hand and the arrow. If you are used to a recurve with over an inch between hand and arrow and switch to a selfbow with no gap. Well the point is different. Takes a bit of getting used too.

Wingnut, I think I adjusted for that issue. I've moved my hand placement up and down but it doesn't seem to impact where the arrow goes. Could arrow spine be part of the problem?

Smoke....each bow shoots differently. You can make up for it over time by just shooting. This is one of the problems with switching bows a lot.
Think of it this way. It doesn't shoot low, it shoots where it shoots. It is your job to decipher that and aim correctly for that bow. The same thing happens if you go to a much heavier or lighter weight arrow. It takes some time and practice to get around it. Some people respond quickly, others take more time.

Have you tried just flippin it over and using the bottom limb as the top?

Thanks Chuck . . .I learn everything much slower than I should so I hope that isn't it. BamBooBender gave me a great idea for checking Art B's theory. I'll let you guy know tomorrow what (if anything) I learn! Thanks again.

I shot the bow last night - upside down. Son-of-gun if it didn't shoot pretty much on target! Knowing that, I'm not sure what I'll do about it . . .but at least I know the problem. Thanks to all who offered help.
