The light switch has been turned on!
« on: November 07, 2012, 09:46:00 AM »
Yesterday the does were just hanging around grooming each other, no stress at all. This morning the does come racing thru all over the place, nerves like banjo strings! Then I see why. Here comes the Boss! I watched him keep two does pinned down in the same area all morning until 9. There were a few other interested participants, but they wanted nothing to do with the big bruiser who is dominating the area right now. I tell ya, it's like a circus around here just like that.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it's going to launch you into something great.

I saw a nice buck this AM, good 9pt or 10pt real large body and a thick rack! came thru nose down and on a mission, had a neck like a linebacker! Never came into shooting range, never made me either can't wait for tomorrow morning! First sign of a rut, I'm pumped!

Except for one monster I walked up on about a wk ago at 11:30am behind a soybean field, it's been all little bucks. Woods are full of fresh rubs and buck sign. A real shortage of does this yr where I'm hunting..only seen 4 does since Oct. 1 and no fawns or this yrs deer. They are chasing now, just have to luck up with a big one.

I just saw the next to biggest rub I've seen all season along side the hwy. He had to have made standing on the road shoulder side..not even in the woods.

been very slow for me here in FL.  I hear some movement before and after light, but very little movement during daylight.  I'm hoping it picks up here real soon, cause I'm getting a little frustrated...

Muley bucks are coming into town chasing does for the last 10 days. Got pics of a BIG buck breeding a doe in the neighbor's yard a few days back. Our season was over 3 weeks ago. Darn, I wish we could hunt the rut.

I would never think I'd ever hear a PA guy say that,, Dead around here?  I think the Mass guys went down and shot all your deer on you and I'd apoligize but it wasn't me,, I admit I thought about it when that game warden at denton hill was encouraging me to join in but decided I'd help mah self to the maryland deer instead.

Tajue17, I have a mess of deer around here, and the circus continued today. Yesterday afternoon I watched a few deer about 150 yrds out running around like they were having sprinting races back and forth along the ridge. Today has been the same on and off all day. Tonight while making some BBQ venison, I was looking out back to see a nice buck taking it out on my neighbor's bushes. Guess he will have to plant some new ones next year because there isn't much left.

130 inches a small deer?  Even in Ohio that isn't small buck.  The light switch went off Monday here.  Good luck to you all and if those small 130 inchers are in the way just shew them across the river.  God Bless
