arrows for a 50# longbow
«

I have my mind set on getting a 50# martin savannah. my draw length is 29". I am going to be shooting traditional only shafts. I am thinking around 9 to 10 grains per pound. I will be using the setup for deer hunting. so I guess im asking what spine and overall weight and point weight you would suggest.
thanks

I'm using 340 with a 55 bow and 175 grain tips. You might be able to get by with the 300. If you cut them down they will stiffen up some. I know the 340 is 10 gpi,I'm not sure about the 300,but it's all on the charts at 3Rivers.

Hey Josh I meant to say you could look at the 400 spine not the 300.

400's are perfect cut to 30" 65 grains of brass 160 grain broad heads. they'll com in around 500 grains
If you like Traditional only shafts, also look at heritage 250's and you can save a few bucks. Very equivalent to each other.

Don't know what your experience with traditional is so the first question to ask is if your draw length is 29" on a longbow?

It probably won't be much different. If you were going from a compound to a longbow though, it could be a couple inches different. That's why I ask.

So what do you all think about a 9gp# vs 10gp#
I would like it to shoot fairly flat but i still want good penetration
