Broadheads or field points? For practice of course......

Getting opinions on wether to shoot my hunting broadheads as I practice or if shooting field points is just as effective? Also any bad thoughts in zwickey 2 blades? Love this sport! Feels like I've joined a brotherhood!

Well it depends.  If they are easily resharpened then nothing beats the real thing.  I tune my setup so they fly the same and shoot both depending on the particular target or chance of damaging the head.

I stump shoot with all my broadhead mounted (glue on) arrows to make sure they fly well.  I use proven target arrows and remvoe the field points and add broadheads before then as well.

That will also tell you whether your broadheads are rugged enough for hunting use and can be resharpened.  ;-)

Field points are great for repetitive practice, but theres nothing like the experience gained from shooting the broadheads you intend to hunt with.
Even though your field points and broadheads are the same weight, the flight may not be.

I shoot mainly field tips ONLY after making sure my broadheads shoot exactly the same as the field tips. Even then during hunting season I practice at least once a week with broadheads.

Once I know my BH are flying where I want I shoot FP and Hex or Judos most of the time

I too make sure my broadheads are flying true and then switch to field points for every day practice.  I get tired of cutting feathers off and it never fails I'll shoot my tightest groups with the broadheads.

Same here once I establish that all of my broadhead tipped arrow fly like my FPs I go back to my FPs. Do any of yall lose any significant BH weight by having to sharpen your heads a bunch?

My arrows are different length with BH vs. Field point.  BH are great practice, throughout the season.  It gets your brain used to the flight and look of the sight picture.  I do not focus on looking at the arrow, but your brain sees it in the subconscious.  Always good to shoot BH.

I rarely shoot a field point, mainly due to my method of shooting.  I like to draw, get anchor, and get back tension til the broadhead bumps a knuckle on my bow hand.  I then release.  I find this hard to do with a field point.  I also like to maintain the consistent sight picture...I stick with the broadheads.
