Windy morning in Kansas (pics)

I almost didn't crawl out of bed this morning. A front moved through overnight and the wind was howling and spitting a little rain/snow flakes. About the first 30 minutes of light I looked up to see a redtail hawk fighting the wind and thought "well at least i'm not the only idiot hunting this morning." Anyways the story....shortened version. At about 7:30 am I heard something cross the creek and saw what I thought was a basket rack 8 but the brush was too thick to tell. Shortly after a small doe begins working her way towards me with a nice mainframe 8 in tow with some cool abnormal points. Now here comes the dreaded delima we all face, is she going to go left of me....or right? At about 10 yards directly in front of me she veers right back down to the creek and stands on the sandbar. I slowly begin to get spun around to make a shot to my right because I figured the buck would follow. Now here's the cool part, something I've never seen or even heard of. The buck stops 5 yards in front of me (not in a shooting lane) watching the doe, and as if to say "GET MOVING!!!!" he rears back, raises both front hooves in the air and stomps them down, throw his head back and roars!!! (sexually frustrated I guess?) Anyways by this point i'm trying not to pee down my own leg. Between his close proximity and literally roaring, it's all I can do to keep from falling out of the tree from shaking. He takes one more step and I've got about an 8" window to shoot throw. I figure now or never and let her fly. Heart shot! 40 yard recovery. Mainframe 8, 3 extra kickers, and a 22 inch extra main beam! Thanks for reading. Now what do I do the rest of the winter?
