Thanks for posting the pic, just got bck from kansas was moral support for my buddie. We had one at 60 yards that made this one look like a dink.
I took mine from public land, it was a nitemare season, hunters every place, I had private ground but there was more people hunting it than I cared to be around, I had hunters on the public messing things up, I injured my rotator cuff the 2nd day I was there, I found a good spot 2 miles from the road, it was the most over looked funnel I could think of, got in early the 6th of November, this guys walks by after good light at 30 yards, I wanted to cry, he went into the cedars, I grunted at him when he got in there, but he never came out. A few minutes later, he came out at 75 yards walking away, he stopped to smell a scape, I grunted at him, he looked my way and turned away and started to walk away, I said screw it and snort wheezed at him with my mouth. He turned around walked straight to my tree stiff legging side stepping like a Brama bull, ears laid back swelled up like a tick, stopped turned broadside at 14 yards, I drew picked a spot, let it roll and pin wheeled him. It looked like someone shot him out of a cannon. He ran thru a barbed wire fence, torn it down , went flying thru a brush pile and was on a death run. When I recoverd him his jaw was broken and he broke of a 4 inch sticker I think, it looked like a fresh break.
Truly amazing hunt, I had nothing but bad luck for 7 days, seen more people than deer, hurt my arm, I guess it truly pays to keep on going, cause the rut is the rut, it can all change in seconds.
