Being a cancer survivor, I'll say that it is a blast in the face to be told you have it and opens the eyes to give you a new perspective on life whether it be for weeks or decades.  I don't know him but I can tell the kind of guy he was from that quoted post.  I admire him for his faith and can only say he is indeed in a better place.  I will say a prayer of peace for all involved.  God Bless them all

What an strong gentleman.  I am saddened by the loss of a fellow trad gang member and prayers go out to those he left behind.  I admire his faith.

Rick was a good man, as was his brother Harold. They both extended kindness to me in both word and deed. I know his brothers passing hit him like a freight train.i knew Harold first, and got to know Rick better after Harold passed away. I am so sorry to hear this news. Prayers for his family and friends. I will tell you all, our ranks needs more men like them, and they will both be sorely missed. Godspeed Rick, and give my regards to Harold. God bless.

I have read and re-read his last post - one strong man who was ready for whatever was coming.
I'll be shooting my arrow tomorrow morning from the Alabama woods.

May God grant his family peace and show him to a better hunting ground. He's at that campfire with his family members now. My prayers to his family here.
Bowhunting is a passion, not an obsession. Its just hard for my wife to tell the difference sometimes.

It is always sad to lose a friend and a fellow sportsman, but it is good to see somebody accept his own passing with such grace and dignity. It is obvious that he was a man of faith and inner strength, with the peace that comes from that faith. Although I never knew Longarrow, somehow, I suspect he lived his life with the same grace and character with which he concluded it. This should be an example we all try to follow. Prayers for all his friends and family, but don't be too sad either. After all, as he said, he has gone to a better place to re-join those loved ones who went before. God Bless.
Sam
