Oh sure Otto why the heck not..I'm thinking Black Widow with carbon limbs, 6 strand fast flight string, string silencers and muffs and 2 brass nock points and a 6 arrow quiver. Carbon arrows with plastic nocks, chartruese feathers and someof those G5 broadheads that cost $30 apiece, and maybe some of that Bill Jerdan hide-o-flage with scent lock, only first I got to spray it with that stuff so I don't glow neon blue, and a Walkers Game ear so I can hear em coming. Better have a mouth muffler in my pocket in case I have to cough too (been coughing a lot lately). What are my leaving out?

Thanks John...knew you would understand   :biglaugh:

Ferret,

:knothead:  Sadly, I have most of the things you just mentioned in my closet somewhere. After crashing through the woods with all that crap in the past..... this year it is just the bow and arrows with a knife and simple outdoor clothes. I'm doing away with all the fancy gagets and just going for a walk and sit in a blow down somwewhere.

Just Googled up pleurisy, and got beau coup hits. I don't know which sites have the most reliable information, but it might be worth looking into.

And I would go with vanes, Mickey. It gets damp out there sometimes, and it would also keep you from breathing in the microscopic dust of feathers being worn by the rest as they pass over it.

Go to the pharmacy and get the tablets that they make for ostomy patients. Makes your crap sweet as cotton candy, so you won't have to shower after every dump. Combine them with lots of black licorish, and not only will your poop be green, but you will be able to use it as a curiosity attractant.

I signed the author's name to it, Ferret. How long has your GP been at this case?

Ferret,
We'll see how it goes this year, but I think I found a honey hole! Great place to go for a walk and have a sit.  Lots of deer!  Never hunted it before, hopefully it doesn't get too much pressure. Hope ya' get to feelin' better.

On the bright side, judging from the pictures from your backyard, you won't need to go too far to hunt this year.

Mickey,

I'm not going to chide ya and give ya a ration of crap because your thinking about shooting a glass backed bow.

Let me tell you what happened to me last month. I was watching a ppv movie sitting in my favorite chair munching popcorn enjoying life  :bigsmyl:

Damn Nighthawk, that does it, I'm never eating popcorn again!  (another mild attempt at levity)

Dang man that sounds bad, glad they got you to the hospital in time. That had to be scary as all get out.Hope your next exam goes ok and they are done exploring the caverns (if ya get my drift).

This thread was actually started in jest,(and out of a bit of depression about the length of time this problem has been bothering me), and I thought the "high tech" part would be good for some lively posts. Instead everyone was so dang caring and nice I truthfully felt bad about starting it

I do know/realize what is important in life and it's not what kind of weapon one is carrying in their hands at any given time. Family, friends, your health, somewhat your wealth, how you treat others and how you keep your word are what is really important, not whether you're hunting with wood or glass, or if your weapon has wheels or uses bullets..or if you are even hunting at all.

I imagine in your case that has become abundantly clear.

I'm tipping my cup of hot tea to your continued recovery and good health my friend and I expect to share a drink of choice with you in person at the next Cloverdale.Don't dissapoint me.

Hey Mickey, you know how I feel about selfbows, but I do have several glass bows too and, well, I like them. You heard me. I am glad that is off my chest.

So if you want to get a glass bow I will not loose any measurable amount of respect for you, but if you don't get your health restored soon I am going to be very disappointed.    :saywhat:

Now go get better.

I'm just starting to wonder....with all of the knowledge that Mr. Ferret seems to have about modern gadgetry, familiarity with all of the things he claims to loathe....is there a secret in the closet that he can no longer hide?  Is there something you want to tell us Mickey?  Feeling crushed by all the trappings of true tradition?  Have a deep longing to go hog wild with techno gear?  It's o.k., really.  As you have seen we all like and support you regardless.  For some guys it's a red Ferrari, for others it's a glass bow.  Now go ahead and say it.....

Mickey,

Maybe it's you diet not your weapon that's the trouble.  You haven't started eating vegetables have you?  You know those green, yellow, grow in the garden things?

You could get one of those new fangled metal riser, adjustable bows.  Just think, forty or so moving parts to keep your mind befuddled and busy.  Many are small little screws so it can double as a vision test as well!

Hope you feel better!
