My 2012 KS TRIP
« on: November 21, 2012, 09:04:00 PM »
Just got back from my annual trip to the land of oz. Hunted hard for 11 days and saw alot of deer, some really good ones, as well. I shared camp with a couple of good buddies ate great and really enjoyed my time off. I was really trying to kill a good one this year so I passed alot of really nice young bucks. My only shot oppurtunity was on a 145" 10 pt. that I rattled in. Of course, he didn't read my script and only offered me a long shot around 26 yrds that I barely missed low on. I was blessed to take these 2 does to bring some meat home. The second one I took the morning before I left after a bout of food poisoning. I was as weak as a kitten and was very thankful that she ran back across the creek and died where I could drive right up to her! I used my trusty Centaur with WW heads on goldtip shafts. God Bless.

"and really enjoyed my time off".
Doesn't get any better than that. Good work on the freezer filling and too bad about the bad food.
Sounds like a great time overall.

Yep, the only other thing was a broken tie rod on the way home! Replaced it with a pipe wrench and a pair of vice grips, redneck ingenuity at its finest!
