Felix and his buddy from Cheyenne showed up at my place yesterday morning at dark thirty. I was going to take them out hunting bunnies with our bows.
We got to one of my spots where I had seen many rabbits in the past. Right off the bat a bunnie jumps up out of the brush in front of me and stops around 20 yards. I had a clear shot, but just missed it's head, high, by a fraction of an inch. The bunnie headed towards Felix. I see him draw, shoot, and he scored! Wow, what a good start. Look's like we may get some good shooting in today.
Well, that wasn't to be. The dreaded wind started blowing harder and harder as the morning progressed. We only saw two more bunnies, had a miss on one, and the other ran, and ran, and ran, with no shot at it.
It was great to hunt with Felix. I have met him before at the CTAS shoot, and instantly found a new friend. What a good guy, I hope we can hunt more in the future together.
