Need a Little Advise
« on: November 25, 2012, 09:13:00 PM »
Hey Guys, thanks for the look. My question is a simple one. I am shooting a beautiful Omega longbow that is 43# at my draw(28). I am shooting 28in aluminums steered by 4in sheild cuts, My question is, do i have enough juice for a 3 blade, such as a Woodsman.
Ive been wanting to try them, im just a little timid about penetration. All my shots are well under 20 yds, out of a tree. What say you fellers?

Thanks again

My bowhunting mentor recommended the break-point for three blades was at a 55#@28" bow drawn to 28".  When he had heart surgery and had to drop in bow weight he went to the Magnus II even though he loved Snuffers.

But LOTS of deer have falled to three blades out of lower power bows.

I shoot single blade (two edge) heads like the Stos and Magnus II for full penetration with my mid-50# bows.

It's up to you, but IMHO 43# is not enough juice to drive 33% more drag through a deer.  And with a bone strike, even a rib, the odds drop.

Thanks for the help. Ive also had great experiences with MA-II's. There out of stock though. Would an Eskilite be a better choice? Thanks again.

I would look at land sharks,43 is under poundage for a three blade.
