The Keeping of the Flame....
« on: November 26, 2012, 10:43:00 AM »
This cyber campfire will remain as intended as long as I'm alive.  I will always protect the bonfire for those of you who truly get the purpose of this site from its inception.

I will not cave to the newbies  that claim to be 'new and improve' , nor the instant expert *keyboard cowboys* that waltz in here and disregard long time hunters and their experience.  Lecturing lifetime successful hunters, and even mocking some of the pioneers of this lifestyle.  I wont have it.  End of story , end of discussion.

I'm sure this trend of "I'm here, I've arrived, I'm new to all this but you all are wrong anyway" mentality will only escalate as more and more folks feel the need to somehow showcase some type of superiority that they don't have elsewhere here on the rest of us.  Especially since our 'traditional culture' is eroding.

Some of you may have noticed, others not....but those folks that want to jump in here and jump on folks are being removed rather quickly.

I also want to thank those of you hitting the mod alerts on these types of folks.  The sooner we see this type of activity, the sooner we can take care of it.

Sorry for the rant....but just wanted those that are 'one of us' to know where I stand with no reservations.

Terry, I personally want to thank you and all the mods for all your hard work here in keeping things positive and respectful.  I've been part of other forums (not archery related at all) that every other post is negative and it's discouraging trying to get real helpful info. Anyways, thanks again,  I can't begin to list the amount of help I've received here and have never been disrepected.

Terry:  At last nights church service, the Pastor asked folks to come forward and tell us what they were thankful for.  Some of their thankfulness was obvious, and many explained points that we don't even realize... things we take for granted. It was kind of a reminder of all the great things we experience that we don't even realize, and it was probably the reason for the Pastor doing this.

You and the Tradgang are much like those points. Many, many get on this site and use it and enjoy it.  I doubt very many at all (myself included) realize just how much time, commitment, and sacrifice you provide to keep our "trad family" going here on Tradgang.  I appreciate all you do and count this site and yourself as something in my life to be thankful for.  I thank you Terry, for your dedication to the lifestyle we all share, your wisdom, and for doing what needs to get done, even when the decisions can be tough.

Even though I do frequent other trad forums, this one is by far my favorite. Keep running it exactly as you are Terry. I can't believe the things other sites let their members get away with, the rudeness and attacking of one another. It's refreshing that we don't have that here.
